by Tamany Baker
Tamany has been making photographs for over 25 years, whether in the fields of Iceland or her own back garden. She recently won the Conceptual and Constructed (Fine Art) section of the prestigious Sony World Photography Awards 2009 with "Living with Wolfie."
This earlier photographic work is a journey through the mixed thoughts and feelings about her mother, and offers a wider reflection on death and the loss of youth. Anyone who has grappled with bereavement and understands how you must let go to move on will be captivated by this achingly beautiful collection of photographs, inspired by an image of a fallen statue lying in the grass.
This is her first book published in a limited edition of 1000. It is printed on Japanese wood-free paper and meticulously bound in white linen.
