Tangent Books strives to offer customers the best value and the best service. We also work closely with authors, photographers, illustrators and editors: we feel we have a responsibility to treat them fairly as well, so our prices take into account giving a fair wage to the people we work with.

Shipping & Delivery
All UK shipping is free. There is a flat fee of £3 per item for European orders and £10 per item for the rest of the world.
Christmas Posting Dates 2017:
UK - Thurs 21st December
Europe - Fri 15th December
Rest of World - Fri 8th December
Orders received before noon are usually shipped the same day. All overseas orders are sent via Airmail. For larger orders we may use a courier service or ship direct from our London distributor. Please allow five working days for delivery of large orders from our distributor.
All items on the website are always in stock. If an item is out of stock we remove it from the website or it will be marked as out of stock.
Tangent Books can ship to virtually any address in the world. If you are an overseas customer and want to order a large number of books, please get in touch via the contact form to discuss rates. If you have any special shipping requirements please add a note to your order or contact us via the website.
Privacy & Security
Tangent Books respects customers' privacy. We ask for your personal information when you make a purchase, register, sign up for promotions, offers or competitions, or to receive news. If you do not wish to receive details of new books, promotions or offers, you will always have the option to unsubscribe from the newsletter. We do not share your data with any third parties except as required by law. We will not share personal data with third parties for Direct Marketing without your consent.
We do not store any payment information on this website. Payments are processed by Paypal or Worldpay. Both use appropriate encrypted security software. Tangent Books will never contact you to request payment information. Any losses incurred or sustained by you as a result of transmitting information by means of e-mail or other internet link will be borne solely and exclusively by you.
Returns & Replacements
This returns policy does not affect your statutory rights. You may cancel your order before delivery or within 14 calendar days after the date of delivery if the delivery address is in the United Kingdom including Northern Ireland or within 28 calendar days after the date of delivery if the delivery address is outside the United Kingdom or Northern Ireland. We will credit your payment card with the cost of the unwanted Goods and our delivery charges within 30 days of the date of your cancellation. Please return the unwanted Goods with the original packaging within 30 days of cancellation. You are required to take reasonable care of the goods while in your possession.
Returned Goods will be delivered to us at your cost, unless the Goods are defective or damaged or if we have delivered them to you in error. We will be entitled to deduct the cost of recovering the Goods if you fail to return them following cancellation. If Goods are defective or damaged, please contact us via the contact form. We reserve the right to check if items are damaged or defective before agreeing to reimbursement and ask for proof of damage or defect. We will refund you the cost of damaged or defective goods, our delivery charges and your reasonable return charges. Refunds will be credited to your payment card and will not be paid in cash.
Terms & Conditions
Your details When you register with the Tangent Books website, you will be required to choose a contact email address and password. You are responsible for all sessions and transactions taken under these details. You should keep your password safe and not disclose it to anyone. You should change it immediately if you feel it has been compromised. If any of your details change, such as your credit card billing address, you must inform Tangent Books as soon as possible. You may update your details by signing into your account on the Tangent Books website, and update the relevant section.
The contract between us
Any contract for purchases made through the website will be with Naked Guides Ltd trading as Tangent Books, whose registered office is situated at Tangent Books, 5.16 Paintworks, Bristol BS4 3EH, company registration number 5071092 (Tangent Books). Tangent Books must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted, and the contract formed. Once payment has been received Tangent Books will confirm that your order has been received by sending an email to you at the email address you provide in your registration form. The shipment email will include your name, the order number and the total price.
Tangent Books acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us on these terms. Any term sought to be imposed by you in your order will not form part of the contract. Tangent Books is entitled to withdraw from any contract in the case of obvious errors or inaccuracies regarding the goods appearing on our website. If an error or inaccuracy is discovered with regards to the advertised price of the goods that you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible by email. This will be to inform you of the correct price of the goods, and to ask you if you wish to continue with the order at the amended price, or to cancel the order altogether. The contract between us shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law, and the English courts shall have jurisdiction to resolve any disputes between us.
Neither Tangent Books nor any of its Directors, employees or other representatives will be liable for damages arising out of or in connection with the use of this site in any way. This is a comprehensive limitation of liability that applies to all damages of any kind, including (without limitation) compensatory, direct, indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, income or profit, loss of or damage to property and claims of third parties.
