Dallimore & O’Donnell in collaboration with Mark Stewart (RIP) created a poster for the 40th anniversary reissue of the Pop Group’s seminal album Y.

Y In Dub was given a heavyweight dub treatment by Dennis Bovell and released in March 2022.

This is a previously un-released first draft of the poster. Of note within the montage is the picture of Donald Trump with a Francis Bacon ‘screaming Pope’ mouth.

The A2 sized Giclee prints are on white satin heavy-duty archival quality paper.

The edition is limited to 10 numbered copies and one artist’s proof.

Released in March, 2022, the Pop Group’s seminal 1979 album Y was given a new dub mix by British reggae legend Dennis “Blackbeard” Bovell, who has produced for a wide variety of artists including Fela Kuti, Bananarama and Linton Kwesi Johnson. Y In Dub features reimagined arrangements of the original album’s tracks with mind-bending space echoes and a plethora of other studio effects. Y was ranked by The Wire as one of the 100 Most Important Records Ever Made and by Pitchfork as one of the Best Albums of the ‘70s.
